The Chromebook 311 from Acer is designed for the education market, with a focus on battery life and durability
Designed for Education
The Chromebook 311 is made to be the perfect classroom device, capable of handling every task that students might need of it. Running Chrome OS, it offers a simplified, intuitive UI that helps students engage with their work.
The AMD A4 CPU and 4GB of RAM ensure that itís powerful enough to handle a wide variety of workloads, while the 32GB of eMMC storage offers plenty of space to store classwork and projects.
The Chromebook 311 also has integrated Wi-Fi 5 to ensure that staying connected isnít an issue.
Battery life is another major concern and the Chromebook 311 makes the grade easily, lasting up to 10 hours on a single charge - enough to last through the school day with plenty of time left over for homework in the evening.
Accidents happen, especially in classrooms, which is why the Chromebook 311 has been built to survive drops, knocks, spills and other day-to-day mishaps.
Thanks to the ultra-rugged design with integrated bumpers and special drainage points underneath the keyboard, the Chromebook 311 is tested to survive drops of up to 122cm, spills of up to 330ml amongst other things.
The Chromebook 311 also features an updated keyboard design that is engineered to address one of the biggest issues with laptops used in an education setting Ė children pulling off the keys.
The keys on the Chromebook 311ís keyboard are mechanically-anchored, making them much more difficult to remove while keeping the entire keyboard assembly easy to replace Ė this ensures that the laptops are able to stay in use for longer and can be repaired quicker, minimising downtime.
All these features combined mean the Chromebook 311 fully complies with MIL-STD 810G standards, which certifies that that it meets the requirements of the US Military in terms of durability.
